Mel Brittain

Mel Brittain began training at Northgate Lodge 34 years ago in 1985. Antony has now taken over the licence and will continue the success enjoyed by his
late father.

The team of senior staff at Northgate Lodge remains unchanged and they have well over 20 years service and in some cases 30 years of service behind them.

Head Lad - Neil Jordan
Travelling Head Lad - Ron Forsyth
Stud Manager - Clare Nurse
Racing Manager - Garry Marshall

Together with the younger members of staff, we have a dedicated and professional team to lead Northgate Lodge into a new era of training and breeding.

With excellent facilities including modern American Barn Stabling and extensive grass and all weather
gallops, we are well situated to train winners under both codes.

The distinctive Maroon and Yellow Check colours now forever linked to the Brittain family, will grace the racecourse for many years to come. However, make no mistake. Antony Brittain is a public trainer and all owners are welcome at Northgate Lodge. We will be happy to train your horse for you and at very competitive rates.

Alternatively, if you are looking for a partnership share, Antony is continuing to offer new partnerships and in various forms to suit all budgets. We wish to build on the considerable amount of winners that have already been trained at Northgate Lodge under the partnerships banner.

We hope that our website provides a variety of options that will allow you to become involved at some
level in the wonderful world of racehorse ownership. We invite owners both old and new to join us on the
journey and welcome any questions or queries that you may have.
