A short tribute to Lucky Lodge following his 15th career win at Newcastle last night.
Home bred at Northgate Lodge and born in 2010, he ran in the Brocklesby, the first race possible of his 2yo season. He won his 2yo maiden in May of that year. Lucky Lodge has raced every year of his life and he won yesterday at the age of 10, his second win of the year. That was his 122nd start
Not only that, he has WON at least one race, EVERY year in the 9 seasons he has competed. A total of 15 wins. He has also finished 2nd no less than 21 times and 3rd on 16 occasions.
A truly great servant and friend to the yard. There is a photo link below
Lucky Lodge Winning 25.09.2020
QAARAAT & ONE ONE SEVEN made it a 1st and 2nd tonight at Wolverhampton.
We have INTERNATIONAL LAW declared for Tuesday at Newcastle
and then runners back there on Friday.
ANOTHER ANGEL returned to winning ways at his favourite track Newcastle yesterday. He was winner 21 for the yard in this difficult year.
We have Mutabaahy at Thirsk today and 2 runners in the Apprentice Race at Wolverhampton on Saturday being Beatbybeatbybeat and Traveller.
The next likely runners will be on Tuesday.
Good Southwell runs for the yard on Monday and credit must go to DRAKEFELL who was narrowly beaten in the feature sprint after an absence of over 500 days.
We have 2 runners at Ripon today, with 4 at Wolverhampton on Tuesday and then 3 declared at Newcastle on Thursday.
We have further entries planned for the end of the week and weekend.
Keep in touch for all the plans.
DAAFR posted his first win on turf with victory at Haydock on Saturday. His win made it 20 for the year for the stable.
He holds a follow up entry this week at Doncaster on Saturday.
UPSIDE DOWN & QAARAAT are declared for Wolverhampton on Tuesday. Our other entries have been eliminated, including all our likely runners at Wolverhampton on Wednesday.
We have CANFORD BAY, MUTABAAHY & THAWRY entered at Chester on Friday.
News on other weekend entries will follow.
CANFORD BAY gained another deserved win in the 8.00pm at Catterick tonight, following his near miss at Hayodock on Saturday.
It was a Class 4 and a nice prize for him to land.
MUTABAAHY was a ready winner back on the all weather at Newcastle following some solid efforts on turf. A performance the Racing Post are calling a career best.
We are quieter with no entries for the first half of this week.
Many placed runners for us over this last week so the horses are coming into form and will enjoy a run or two under their belts.
We have had horses eliminated again over the weekend but we have plenty of entries from Tuesday of next week onwards and should have a few runners in the second half of next week.
The entries page will list all of those involved and link to the individual races.
Great to be back racing and the new processes seem to have worked well thanks to a team effort and all round hard work from every aspect of the industry.
We’ve had 4 runners so far and some promise from our 2yo’s so we can look forward to them as the season progresses.
Unfortunately, all 7 of our entries for racing on Thursday and Saturday have been eliminated and it’s tough to try and get runs into the horses just at the moment. We’ll keep trying and the BHA are adding new meetings in an effort to meet demand.
Our next entries are Tathmeen at Haydock on Tuesday and Van Dijk, Daafr and International Law at Wolverhampton the same day.
PUCHITA won her 3rd race at Southwell tonight in the 6.00pm contest and that came from her last 4 runs. She won by 3/4 of a length under Harry Russell.
She also ran well to be a close 4th on Tuesday but the drop to 5 furlongs and a draw that saw her isolated wide, was perhaps not to her advantage. Returning to 6 furlongs tonight, the distance of all her wins, she skipped along and was soon in command, holding on well at the finish.
Our next runners are at Wolverhampton tomorrow night. We then have a break for Flat racing until next Friday
Puchita’s win put us on the 17 winner mark for the year
